CLOANTO PERSONAL PAINT USER INTERFACE LOCALIZATION - Russian
INSTALLATION
Depending on the program version, the user interface file contained in
one of the "VER_xx" drawers must be copied to "PPaint_Prefs":
VER_82/UIText.custom -> Personal Paint 6.4 (bundled with the Amiga)
VER_84/UIText.custom -> Personal Paint 6.4 (published by Cloanto)
VER_88/UIText.custom -> Personal Paint 7.0 and 7.1
To select the new language, set the user interface language to "Custom".
This localization requires a special version of the Personal font,
designed to support the Russian Amiga character set. The font is
included in the "Fonts" directory of this archive, from where it must
be copied to replace the existing Personal font (in the Personal Paint
directory and/or in "FONTS:"). Most national characters used by
Western European languages other than English (plain ASCII set) are
not supported by this new font. Please note that if a different
Personal font is in use, the new font will not be used until all
programs using the old font are terminated and the old font is flushed
from memory (e.g. by typing "Avail FLUSH" in the Shell).
NOTES
If you wish to contribute in the development of a revised or new version
of a user interface file for a Cloanto package, please refer to the
translation guidelines in the Amiga Documents section at
<http://www.cloanto.com>, and contact us at <support@cloanto.com>. We
will try to reduce duplication of efforts by coordinating different
localization projects. Once the translation is complete, we would ask
that you send it to us, rather than uploading it directly. This allows
us to test it in different screen resolutions, test the keyboard
shortcuts, and create versions of the same language for older program
versions, which we also support. Then we will prepare all the files in
a format consistent with the other files, and upload everything to the
biz/cloan directory on Aminet. Your name and E-mail address will remain
in the "Author" field, and you will also receive the latest version of
Personal Paint from us.
Your help is very appreciated.
