This utility checks the integrity of PNG images and optionally
extracts embedded information such as the colour format, palette
contents and text identification strings.

PNG or 'Portable Network Graphics' file format is designed to
address the flaws of GIF. It has better compression, support
for images with more than 256 colours, and no licence fees.

pngcheck was compiled with SAS C for all Amigas at the request of
the maintainer Greg Roelofs. The archive includes free C source
and a script to automate checking of multiple files on AmigaDOS.
