ISTAR NEWS

2 February 1998 Version 1.083

The bugs in version 1.08 have been fixed. So I'm bringing out a
new version, and placing it in aminet/dev/misc as well as
www.basden.demon.co.uk/pgm/Istar/Istar.lha

23 January 1998 Version 1.08

A couple of bugs have been found by users. I'll try to correct them
soon, and place an interim version is in
www.basden.demon.co.uk/pgm/Istar/Istar.lha.

# (Avoidable crash) Do not hit the 'Delete' button in the Attribute
Action Panel. It crashes 8---5. Being looked into. For now, to delete
an attribute, do its from its Item Details Panel and the Attributes list,
hitting the Rid button thereon.

# (Avoidable crash) If you choose a new attribute type or inference
method from the Attribute Details Panel (and presumably also a new
Relationship or item type from their Details Panels), and then do the
silly thing of closing the Attribute Details Panel before hitting 'OK'
or Cancel on the choice list, then Istar will crash.
Just be careful. Earlier versions did not have this problem cos while
a choice list panel was up all other panels were dead, but now I've let
them be alive. Being looked into. Apologies.

14 January 1998

Version 1.08 was first uploaded around Christmas 1997 but I found a
rare crashing-bug, corrected it and uploaded the corrected version 1.08
on 3-Jan-98, overwriting the Christmas version.

Two small bugs remain; I'll investigate them.

# If you create a new relationship type and give it an inverse name
as well as a main name, then it is the inverse name, rather than its
main name, that appears in lists that name the relationship type
and in the relinst panel. However, the main name is still there.
And those created automatically on a new KB are the right way round.

# Apparently there are some enforcer hits when the file requester
comes up. It seems that it tries to read a string at address zero.
It does not seem to cause any problems, though.
