An icon-launched script that automatically identifies spam
and deletes it from your ISP's POP3 server, or moves it to
a designated quarantine folder in YAM. This version applies
about 200 rules to sift out spam from mails you want to
read, and can quickly be taught new rules by editing plain
text files. Everything it does is obvious and carefully
explained. The package includes no binary code files.
It deletes around 90 per cent of current spams (worms, junk
mail offers, viruses etc) without needing to download more
than a fraction of the messages. It supports multiple POP3
and APOP email accounts and comes with comprehensive English
text, AmigaGuide and HTML documentation, French localisation,
maintenance scripts, and optional extensions for YAM, Miami,
Thor and UAE integration.
CHANGES FOR VERSION 6:18
Version 6:18 of SpamFryer adds 'SpamBrowser' which gives you
the option to run SpamFryer in an interactive mode. You can
preview the contents of your mailbox and interactively select
the mails you want to keep or delete. Passwords may now be
encrypted to the APOP standard. A new custom version benefits
users of the Thor mailer. Localisation support is improved,
as is the handling of control characters and long lines (to
Internet standard RFC 2822). This is just a brief summary -
detailed documentation is another major feature of the update.
SpamFryer has always been well-documented and is even better
now (aussi avec une traduction partielle en français :=).
New rules and tips for SpamFryer users are updated between
releases at http://www.amigawiki.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl/SpamFryer
