Select/Except is a program intended to simplify the use of AmigaDOS
patterns. Using Select, you can interactively select via a GUI the
files you want to execute a certain command on. Handy to use with
commands that do not support patterns themselves, or to perform
complex operations like renaming a bunch of files from xxx.zzz to
xxx_old.zzz.

- Select lets you execute a command on a subset of the files matching
  a given pattern;

- Except lets you execute a command on a subset of the files NOT
  matching a given pattern.

This is an old program (1993), but it is still useful and never found
its way onto Aminet.
