LumiAMP plays MP3 files on AmigaOS 3.x - and, with faad2.library,
drflac.library, tremor.library or opusfile.library installed, AAC,
FLAC, Ogg Vorbis and Opus as well, from files and from internet radio. It is
part of the Lumi suite and shares its look, its menu and its ARexx
conventions with the other tools.
Two things set it apart from other players on this platform. It
knows several ways out of the machine: sound goes through AHI, or
straight to the Paula hardware without any driver in between, or
through ARNE on the Vampire V4 - and MP3 can go to an MHI hardware
decoder such as the MAS Player. And if the machine is too slow for a
track, LumiAMP does not simply stutter: it steps down in a defined
order, as far as you allow it.
FEATURES
--------
- MP3 through mpega.library; AAC (.m4a, .m4b, .mp4, .aac, LC and
HE-AAC v1/v2) through the optional faad2.library; FLAC (also
Ogg-FLAC) through the optional drflac.library; Ogg Vorbis
through the optional tremor.library; Opus through the optional
opusfile.library (a 68080 plays stereo, not 5.1)
- Output through AHI, directly to Paula, or through ARNE on the
Vampire V4; saving steps when the CPU cannot keep up
- MP3 through an MHI hardware decoder (e.g. MAS Player), files and
stations, with gapless track changes
- Internet radio from PLS and M3U lists (MP3, AAC, FLAC and Ogg
stations - Vorbis, FLAC and Opus in Ogg -, http and https),
with station title and logo
- Station search in the Radio Browser directory
(radio-browser.info): play or add a station with one click
- One window: player with cover art on the left, playlist on the
right; the playlist can be hidden
- Playlist with columns (title, artist, album, duration, file),
live search, drag to reorder; new playlist or append from
files or a whole folder; the last playlist is kept
- Track info window with tag editor: ID3v1/v2 in MP3 and .aac,
MP4 tags in .m4a; title, artist, album, year, track number,
genre, comment, web address and cover picture; Vorbis comments
in FLAC and Ogg Vorbis
- Tag metadata in any character set through codesets.library
- Visualisation under the cover: spectrum, stereo level,
oscilloscope, waterfall, goniometer, flower scope, VU meters
- Status line with state, output path, bit rate, track and running
time; in the narrow player it rolls through its groups
- Mute switch, volume and seek from the player and via ARexx
- Commodity with a hotkey that brings the window to the front
- Full ARexx port (LUMIAMP), including the query names of
AmigaAMP (GETTRACKINFO, GETTITLE, GETARTIST, ...)
- Automatic update check with signature verification (optional)
- Notifications of a new track through Herald or Ringhio (optional)
- AmigaGuide documentation, English and German
REQUIREMENTS
------------
- AmigaOS 3.1 (or compatible)
- Motorola 68020 or higher; 68030/50 is the reference for all
timing statements - on a 68020 expect the saving steps
- About 1 MB RAM free, plus the decode buffer
- MUI 3.8 or newer
- NList.mcc (Aminet dev/mui/MCC_NList) - MUI 3.8 does not ship
it; without it LumiAMP will not start and says so by name
- mpega.library (Aminet util/libs/mpega_library) - the MP3
decoder
- codesets.library 6.x (Aminet util/libs/codesets) - for tag
text in any character set
- faad2.library (optional, Aminet util/libs/faad2) - the AAC
decoder; without it MP3 plays as before
- drflac.library 1.0 (optional, Aminet util/libs/drflac) - the
FLAC decoder
- tremor.library 1.0 (optional, Aminet util/libs/tremor) - the
Ogg Vorbis decoder
- opusfile.library 1.0 (optional, Aminet util/libs/opusfile) -
the Opus decoder
- AHI (optional) - without it the direct Paula path still works
- MHI (optional) - a hardware MP3 decoder with its driver in
LIBS:MHI, e.g. the MAS Player
- guigfx.library (optional) - for the cover picture
- A TCP/IP stack (optional) - for internet radio, the station
search and the update check; AmiSSL (optional) in addition for
https and the update check. Playing files needs neither
Successfully tested on AmigaOS 3.1, 3.2, 3.5 and 3.9.
INSTALLATION
------------
Recommended: open the archive, double-click the "Install" icon
in the LumiAMP/ drawer and follow the AmigaOS Installer (English
or German). It copies the binary, the localisation catalogs and
the AmigaGuide help files to the location you choose.
Manual install: copy the LumiAMP binary and its .info icon
wherever you like, e.g. SYS:Tools/, place the catalogs in
LOCALE:Catalogs/<language>/ and the guides in HELP:<language>/.
LumiAMP runs from the drawer it sits in: it finds its help in Help/
next to the program and its catalogs in Catalogs/ there or in
LOCALE:Catalogs, so unpacking the archive is enough. The installer
puts the catalogs into LOCALE:Catalogs, checks for mpega.library,
NList.mcc and codesets.library and names what is missing; it does
not install them. Settings live in ENVARC:LumiAMP/, playlists in the
Playlists/ drawer next to the program - a reinstall leaves both alone.
TOOLTYPES
---------
CX_POPKEY=<hotkey> Hotkey that brings the window to the front
(default: ctrl alt l)
CX_PRIORITY=<n> Commodity priority (default 0)
Tooltypes are read when LumiAMP is started from Workbench.

DEUTSCHE VERSION / GERMAN VERSION
================================================================
FUNKTIONEN
----------
- Ausgabe über AHI, direkt an Paula oder über ARNE der Vampire V4;
Liste bleibt erhalten
- Titelinfo mit Tag-Editor: ID3v1/v2 in MP3 und .aac, MP4-Tags in
.m4a; Titel, Interpret, Album, Jahr, Titelnummer, Genre,
Kommentar, Webadresse und Titelbild; Vorbis-Kommentare in FLAC
und Ogg Vorbis
- Titelangaben in jedem Zeichensatz über codesets.library
- Visualisierung unter dem Titelbild: Spektrum, Stereopegel,
Oszilloskop, Wasserfall, Goniometer, Flower Scope, VU-Meter
- Statuszeile mit Zustand, Ausgabeweg, Bitrate, Titel und Laufzeit;
Namen
- mpega.library (Aminet util/libs/mpega_library) - der
MP3-Decoder
- codesets.library 6.x (Aminet util/libs/codesets) - für
Titelangaben in jedem Zeichensatz
- faad2.library (optional, Aminet util/libs/faad2) - der
AAC-Decoder; ohne sie spielt MP3 wie bisher
- drflac.library 1.0 (optional, Aminet util/libs/drflac) - der
FLAC-Decoder
- tremor.library 1.0 (optional, Aminet util/libs/tremor) - der
Ogg-Vorbis-Decoder
- opusfile.library 1.0 (optional, Aminet util/libs/opusfile) -
INSTALLATION
------------
Empfohlen: Archiv öffnen, im Verzeichnis LumiAMP/ auf "Install"
doppelklicken und dem AmigaOS-Installer folgen (deutsche oder
englische Sprache). Er kopiert das Binary, die Sprachkataloge und
die AmigaGuide-Dokumentation an den gewählten Ort.
Manuelle Installation: das LumiAMP-Binary und das zugehörige
Piktogramm an einen beliebigen Ort kopieren (z.B. SYS:Tools/),
dort oder in LOCALE:Catalogs, Entpacken genügt also.
(Vorgabe: ctrl alt l)
CX_PRIORITY=<n> Commodity-Priorität (Vorgabe 0)
