ODFileSystem
============

ODFileSystem is a read-only optical-disc filesystem handler for
AmigaOS. It mounts CD-ROM, DVD, Blu-ray, and image-backed optical
media through the normal AmigaDOS handler interface.

The AmigaOS 3 release archive contains the m68k handlers intended for
classic Amiga systems and emulators. Copy the normal handler to L: and
use it from a DOSDriver or Mountlist entry.

Archive Contents
----------------

- ODFileSystem
Normal disk-loadable filesystem handler. Copy this to
L:ODFileSystem for regular use. Runs on any 68000 or better.

- ODFileSystem020
Handler built for 68020 and higher processors. Faster and smaller
than the 68000 build; use it on 68020/030/040/060 machines by
copying it to L:ODFileSystem instead of the 68000 version.

- ODFileSystem-test
Test build with serial debug output enabled.

- ODFileSystem-rom
  Size-reduced ROM-profile build.

- ODFileSystem-rom-test
Test build of the ROM profile with serial debug output enabled.

- Env-Archive/Sys/def_cdda.info
Default Workbench disk icon for pure audio CDs.

- README.md
  This file.

Features
--------

- ISO 9660 directory and file access
- Rock Ridge long names and metadata
- Joliet Unicode names
- UDF bridge-disc support
- HFS and HFS+ data-fork access
- Multisession media support
- CDDA tracks exposed as virtual audio files
- Read-only operation for safe use with optical media

For ISO-family hybrid discs, ODFileSystem prefers Rock Ridge, then
Joliet, then plain ISO 9660. For bridge discs it prefers the ISO view
by default; UDF and HFS can be selected explicitly through mount
options.

Installation
------------

1. Copy the handler to:

       L:ODFileSystem

2. Install or edit a DOSDriver entry, for example:

       DEVS:DOSDrivers/CD0

3. Set the filesystem in the DOSDriver or Mountlist to:

       FileSystem = L:ODFileSystem

4. Set Device and Unit for your CD/DVD device.

Typical examples:

- SCSI CD-ROM: Device = scsi.device, Unit = SCSI ID
- A1200 IDE slave: Device = scsi.device, Unit = 1
- WinUAE/FS-UAE: use the emulator's configured CD device/unit

Only one active DOSDriver may use a given device name. If another CD
filesystem is already mounted as CD0:, either replace or disable that
entry before mounting ODFileSystem as CD0:, or rename the ODFileSystem
DOSDriver to another name such as OD0:.

Mount the device from Workbench by double-clicking the DOSDriver icon,
or from Shell with:

       Mount CD0:

To use the supplied audio-CD icon, copy it to both the persistent and
current default-icon directories:

       Copy Env-Archive/Sys/def_cdda.info ENVARC:Sys/
       Copy Env-Archive/Sys/def_cdda.info ENV:Sys/

For pure audio CDs, ODFileSystem presents this default icon as the
volume's Disk.info. If it is unavailable, Workbench falls back to its
normal default CD icon. Data and mixed-mode discs continue to use
their normal disk icons.

Mount Options
-------------

Options can be supplied with the DOSDriver Control string:

       Control = "LOWERCASE UDF"

Supported options include:

- LOWERCASE
  Lowercase plain ISO 9660 names.

- NOROCKRIDGE or NORR
  Disable Rock Ridge.

- NOJOLIET or NOJ
  Disable Joliet.

- UDF
  Prefer UDF on bridge discs.

- HFSFIRST or HF
Prefer HFS on hybrid HFS/ISO discs.

- FILEBUFFERS=n or FB=n
Set the block-cache size in sectors (default 128, 256 KiB).

- METACACHE=n or MC=n
Set the parsed-directory cache size in KiB (default 96, 0 turns it
  off).

- AIFF
Expose CDDA audio tracks as AIFF files instead of WAV files.

Limitations
-----------

ODFileSystem is read-only.

HFS and HFS+ support exposes data forks only. Resource forks and
Finder metadata are not presented through the AmigaDOS view, so some
classic Mac media may not appear exactly as they would on Mac OS.
